2013 CAIRNS WINTER SCHOOL MUSIC DATES

JUNE 24th – JUNE 27th

OUR CONDUCTOR

Our conductor for the Cairns Winter Music School is Mark Eager, Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Welsh Sinfonia. Mark is a highly experienced conductor with a wealth of knowledge in the orchestral field. Underpinning this is his experience as a world class player, having worked full time with the BBC National Orchestra, Wales as Principal Trombonist and soloist for 14 years. We are privileged that he has committed himself to a long term involvement with the Cairns Winter Music School. Mark’s Website – www.markeager.com

“It was a privilege to play with musicians of such high calibre. Mark was inspiring… I play in two orchestras in Melbourne, but don’t have the opportunity to work at that level. It was an insight into the professional workings of an orchestra and a valuable experience to have extended in depth tuition of that nature…an experience of a lifetime to have the opportunity to play with such a group”.

MOYNA FROM MELBOURNE

OUR DIRECTOR

The Cairns Winter Music School is the development of the Director, Sue Stitt. An experienced organiser and manager of regional orchestras, musical events and music tours, Sue directed the inaugural 2012 cairns Winter Music School to a successful outcome.

“The magnificent organisation of the whole event from start to finishing concert was so professional, every detail was attended to. Every person attending would have agreed that it was a great effort by the Director”
